Third annual arts, music event happens Sept. 6

Every year, local musician, artist, historic preservationist and friend William Boddy held a jam session at the SteamPlant Event Center for all his musician friends to celebrate music, friendship and Virgo birthdays. Boddy passed away suddenly in 2015, and this event is held annually to honor the Boddy spirit of friendship, music, art, learning, sharing, caring and fun.

This year’s third annual Boddy Jam will be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Salida SteamPlant and will feature music by seven local bands and performers. This free event is a fun, informal party with everyone invited to share in the celebration, which will include a cash bar, food truck and fire pit on the plaza.

Attendees will bid in a silent auction with over 75 great items, ranging from airplane rides and ski passes to bike tuneups and local wines. Proceeds from the auction will fund the popular William Boddy Passion to Learn scholarships, provided through the Salida Council for the Arts.

Plan to attend and bring a friend! Prepare to dance, have FUN and support a worthy cause, while we remember our friend William Boddy.
