Valley Visions accepting entries until April 6

All Salida-area artists are invited to submit their work for exhibition in the popular annual “Valley Visions Art Exhibition,” sponsored by the Salida Council for the Arts. Deadline for entries in this seventh annual show is Friday, April 6.

Designed as a showcase for the area’s top creative talent, the non-juried exhibit will be on display May 4-29 in the Salida SteamPlant annex. All entries will be for sale, with 80 percent of proceeds going to the artist and 20 percent benefiting the SteamPlant.

The exhibition will kick off with a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 4. The event will feature gourmet hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, cash bar, “meet the artist” opportunities, voting and presentation of People’s Choice Award winners.

Valley Visions is open to all greater Salida area (40-mile radius) artists, photographers, artisans and sculptors with a limit of one entry per person. Patrons attending the reception will vote for their favorites to determine People’s Choice Award winners. Winners will receive cash and/or merchandise prizes in addition to award certificates. The show and winners will be heavily publicized throughout the Rocky Mountain region, and many entries typically sell during the exhibition.

Because of space limitations, this popular show is limited to the first 40 entries received. For complete information, application instructions and printable entry forms visit SalidaCouncilForTheArts.org.
