The Noteables and You’ve Got Male will present their winter concert series “Stars On Snow,” Dec. 7-9 in Salida and Buena Vista.
The first performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Clearview Community Church in Buena Vista.
The following day at 7:30 p.m. the second performance will be at Grace Church in Salida. At 3 p.m. Dec. 9 the final concert will be at the Salida SteamPlant Event Center.
Under the direction of Linda Taylor, the two choruses will perform a wide variety of holiday music, including unusual arrangements of familiar carols, winter ballads, songs of peace and hope and sacred selections.
The Noteables will welcome in the Christmas season with “A Winter Noel.” Other songs include a Celtic version of “People Look East,” the playful “Candy Covered Gingerbread House” and “Stars On Snow.” Which describes a shimmering winter night.  You’ve Got Male will continue with “Do You Know the Way To Bethlehem?” They will also sing a jazzy version of “We Three Kings” and a hilarious arrangement of “Jingle Bells” set to the melodies from the “Nutcracker Suite.”
The two choruses will join together to sing seven songs, including the foot tapping “Sing, Mary, Sing,” followed by a partner song combining “Children Go Where I Send Thee” with the familiar “Go Tell It On the Mountain,”  the jubilant “Gloria” and “The Yearning” which announces the coming of Emmanuel.  The choruses will invite the audience to sing along with “Joyful and Triumphant,” a medley of favorite Christmas carols.
Drummer and percussionist, Oso Blanco, will accompany the choruses.
In addition to the two choruses, guest quartet, Naked Voices, will perform “Candlelight Carol” and “Deck the Halls.”
Suggested donation is $10 at the door to help pay for the cost of music, publicity and the groups’ scholarship fund.
