20th Anniversary Monarch Crest Crank September 16th
Mountain bikers, outdoors enthusiasts and community members are invited to participate in the 20th Anniversary Monarch Crest Crank on Sunday, Sept. 16th. Wrapping up Salida Bike Fest, this fundraising mountain bike ride benefits The Alliance.
The Alliance works to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence through direct service, education, and social change. In the past five years, The Alliance has helped more than 1,200 of our neighbors, friends and family members in Chaffee County.
All profits from the Monarch Crest Crank directly benefit The Alliance’s programs and helps the nonprofit ensure that victims in Chaffee County continue to receive the essential services they need to start a life free from abuse.
Participation in this fundraiser includes a shuttle to and from Salida to the top of Monarch Pass. Riders will meet at 7:30 a.m. at Subculture Cyclery on 129 G St. to check-in, board shuttles and eat breakfast snacks. Following the ride, riders will receive a 20th Anniversary commemorative tote bag and water bottle, goodie bag, free lunch and libations.
The after party kicks off at noon at Riverside Park, at the corner of F Street and Sackett, and is open to the public. There will be a silent auction, live music from local singer-songwriter Keeper, and food and drinks for purchase from Moonlight Pizza and Soulcraft Brewery.
Community members are invited to sign up to ride, volunteer, or attend the after party.
