An event every month that begins at 10:00am on day First of the month, repeating until December 2, 2018
On the first Sunday of every month, join the Central Colorado Humanists for Sunday Science.
Come join the Central Colorado Humanists as they feature their own CCH members and friends in a variety of science-oriented talks and discussions. Sunday Science covers topics in all areas of science, hard and soft, from psychology to climate change, plant ecology to NASA space missions. It is also a great opportunity to meet fellow Humanists, make new friends, and learn about new ideas. All are welcome!
Sunday Science meets on the first Sunday of the month, from 10:00am to noon.
Speaker: Silas Gonzales
For thousands of years women have made significant contributions to the advancement of science, despite having to overcome tremendous odds. Some of these great women are obscure and not well known, while others have become popular legends.
At our next Sunday Science program, Silas Gonzales will highlight women’s accomplishments in science from ancient times to the modern era.
Silas is a retired mathematician and computer scientist. He holds degrees in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Computer Science and developed engineering software during a 35 year career.
Please note that the Humanists Sunday Science program will now be held at the newly-renovated Scout Hut, 210 E. Sackett Avenue. The program will begin at 10 a.m.
The Central Colorado Humanists promote Humanism, a rational philosophy informed by science, guided by reason, inspired by nature and art, and motivated by compassion.
CCH affirms the dignity of each human being and support the maximization of individual liberty and opportunity consonant with social and planetary responsibility. They advocate the extension of participatory democracy and the expansion of the open society, standing for human rights and social justice.
