CMC is proud to present the 2018 Edition of “The CMC Jazz Project” in a series of concerts this weekend March 23rd through 25th.
The first performance will be Friday the 23rd at the Salida Steam Plant Event Center Auditorium, 220 West Sackett Avenue in Salida. Concert will begin at 7:00 pm and will feature a small Jazz Combo from within the ranks of the Band performing a few selections before the full band takes the stage immediately following.
The next night, also beginning at 7:00 pm, the Band will perform in Buena Vista in the Valley Fellowship Church Auditorium, 608 South San Juan. The final concert for the weekend will be at 2:00 pm in Leadville at “The Old Church” Auditorium on the corner of 8th Street and Harrison Avenue (Hwy 24).
Concerts are all FREE, with donations accepted at the door. All proceeds go directly to the support of the CMC Jazz Project.
This Springs Concert series will feature music from the great Don Ellis, the Grammy Award winning album “Life in the Bubble” from Gordon Goodwin, music from the Count Basie Library, Frank Sinatra, a creative arrangement of Steeley Dan’s hit chart “FM”, “Cool Jazz from the pen of Henry Mancini arranged by Colorado’s own Dan Cervone, The Woody Herman Bands arrangement of “My Favorite Things”, Radioheads “Optimistic” re-scored for a full big band, some great original Latin charts, Pat Metheny’s Grammy Award winning tune “Letter From Home”, Nat King Coles “Unforgetable” and Stevie Wonder’s “Living For The City”. A little something for everyone to enjoy. Come out and support live music and hear a great Band playing some great Jazz this weekend without the big price tag or having to travel to the front range to enjoy it.
