American Overhead Door proudly presents Denver legend HAZEL MILLER in concert at the SteamPlant Theater. This is going to be a fabulous holiday event.
Perennial favorite Hazel Miller, the most sought-after performer in Colorado for the past 30 years, will kick off the holiday season with arrangements of seasonal favorite tunes infused with jazz, swing, gospel, Latin, and pop flavors!
Described as “a force of nature” by Rocky Mountain News, her voice has been called “stunning, moving and powerful” and that her “vocals would rival Koko Taylor.”
Featuring a mix of sacred and secular holiday music, Hazel Miller and her band will perform arrangements of “Silent Night” in an Afro-Cuban style, “O Holy Night” in a blues style, “Away in a Manger” in a gospel ballad style… and much more!
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show and will be available at the SteamPlant Box Office and online about a month in advance of the performance.
Hazel Miller is not just a great singer… “she is a force of nature” (Rocky Mountain News). Her voice has been called “stunning, moving and powerful.” Hazel has been a sought after performer in Colorado for the past 24 years. Whether she is singing blues, jazz, pop, or Gospel, her voice charges the songs with a primal dose of genuine soul.
Hazel began her 38-year career in Louisville, Kentucky, where she rose to the top of the music scene. She has opened for popular artists such as Mel Torme, James Brown, the Temptations, Earl Klugh, Bob James, and many others.
The City of Denver singled out Hazel as one of 150 people who make Denver a better place to live in 2008, and she has been given several awards for artistic excellence, including Best Independent Blues-R&B Recording (2002) nad Outstanding Performer at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
