ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
“In and Out” features mostly new & never-exhibited works and is born from some favorite interiors and exteriors of the artist… and her big, orange cat, BOC. More than memories of pretty places – we see the ins and outs that have etched a special place in Hum’s heart. Sue Ann shares her love for Architecture as well as Landscape in this show, where guests will find the memories decorated with unexpected things like a bowl of crème fraîche, parakeets or a chamber pot. The artist makes annual trips to France so you can expect certain “joie de vie” and “je ne sais quoi” in the show; but with her heart firmly planted in Chaffee County, she has some local flavor to share, as well.
SUB-TITLED WORKS – One wall is whimsically subtitled: “Places I Remember or: The Imagined Adventures of BOC, The Studio Cat.” Hum uses her cat, her brush, her memories and her imagination in these tongue-in-cheek, storytelling paintings.
WELL, THAT’S BIG – In this exhibit, Hum is featuring her newest work. A trio of oil paintings welcome you to look through a life-sized, french window that transfixed her during a recent trip to Paris. This work, the largest to date by the artist, is over seven feet tall.
