Salida’s Farmers Market ends season with grand finale
Delight in a true Central Colorado experience and come out to ShedFest on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Salida’s Alpine Park on F Street for one last outdoor celebration before Old Man Winter casts his chilly spell on the valley.
ShedFest is a hyper-local, community-focused event that celebrates the culmination of the 2018 Farmers Market season.

Fill your basket and stock your cupboards with the freshest local foods and the finest handcrafted items in the state of Colorado.
The public is invited to join the festivities and support local agriculture and small businesses by shopping with market vendors, purchasing food and beverages, entering a crockpot competition and buying tasting tickets. Proceeds from the event benefit Foodshed Alliance and ensure that farmers markets happen each year for years to come.
Bring your friends and family to the final farmers market for lunch,
dancing and merriment. Folks who would like to be a part of tasting the crockpot entries and voting for a winner can purchase a tasting ticket the day of. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $2 for kids 9 and younger.

There will be three categories that contestants can enter to win Best of Show, Vegetarian, and Meat. And there will be more than $200 in prizes of local goods and services.
Crockpot Cook-off competitors are asked to register before the event. Tasting tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. the day of the event. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
Already, more than 50 vendors have signed up. A few spots for drop-in vendors are available by signing up at https://foodshedalliance.com/become-a-vendor.
Prepare for Colorado’s ever-changing weather by bringing a jacket and raincoat, if necessary. Don’t forget a blanket to spread out on the grass.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Local Libations Garden (Soulcraft Beer)
11 a.m.-1 p.m. – ShedFest Crockpot Cook-Off
8-9 a.m. – Steve Smalzel, long-time Salida artist, sings and performs on banjo, harmonica, guitar and more.
9-10:30 a.m. – Salida High School Jazz Band
10:30 a.m.–Noon – Salida Circus
Noon-1 p.m. – Icy Mountain String Winders
8 a.m.-1 p.m. – Caricatures by Naters Art
