After a tornado of a show, there’s not much left to say. Original members of one of the Upper Arkansas Valley’s most infectious musical outfits came together at The Lariat in Buena Vista. They launched into three rapid-fire hours of music, including many of the songs that propelled them to Colorado stardom plus some quirky and unexpected covers like the Ghostbusters theme song revved up for dancing. Busting does make you feel good, and the band packed the house.

Leadville saxophonist Mark Hanson joined the band for both full sets to help turn up the funk and fill the gap of vocalist Coco Martin, who was unable to attend this go-around. Also present was Leadville artist and live-music fixture Kan Tong, who produced a painting live in front of the stage. The painting was raffled off at the end of the show and helped bring back the Leadville Cherokee live magic.  Here is the night in pictures. Check out the Leadville Cherokee Bandcamp page for access to their musical catalogue.
