Performance Poet Judyth Hill To Be Featured at Poetry Live at the Paquette

The next Poetry Live at the Paquette is on Sunday, May 20 at 7 pm, and will feature charismatic Colorado performance poet Judyth Hill. Hill is a gifted writing teacher, mentor, and author, with seven published books of poetry. She has received numerous grants for her work as a poet, and was the Literature Coordinator for the New Mexico State Arts Division for a number of years. She has been described as “energy with skin,” and “a tigress with a pen.”
The Local Poet Showcase will feature Salida poet Craig Nielson, author of ‘Touch of Grace‘ and the forthcoming collection ‘Worn Open Places‘. Nielson is a member of the River City Nomads, a five-person poetry troupe, as well as an avid climber of really big mountains.
There will be an open mike segment with signups starting at 6:45 pm. Poets are asked to bring several poems to read in a round robin format. The Paquette Gallery is located in the SteamPlant Event Center at 220 W. Sackett Avenue in Salida. The event is free, with donations accepted. All donations will be used to pay expenses for the production of local spoken word events. More information is available from the SteamPlant at 719.530.0933.
