Walden Chamber Music Society presents an after-Thanksgiving concert

On Sunday, Nov. 25 Walden Chamber Music Society will open its 2018-2019 concert season by welcoming our new musician, Young Kim, Assistant Horn with the St Louis Symphony Orchestra. Kim plays the French horn. Violinists Yi Zhao and Matt Diekman, cellist Zach Reaves and pianist Jo Boatright will also perform.

The concert opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Duo in E flat Major, WoO 32 for viola and ‘cello, “mit zwei obligaten Ausgernglasern”  followed by Trio in E flat Major, Op. 40 for piano, violin and French horn by Johannes Brahms.

For the second half of our program we present Quartet in c minor, Op. 13  for piano, violin, viola and  ‘cello composed by Richard Strauss.

Prior to the 3 p.m. concert, Boatright will give a 30 minute informance beginning at 2 p.m., during which she will explain and demonstrate the music to be performed.

Tickets are $15 for adults and free for students.  The tickets are available on our website, at the SteamPlant Theater box office, the Salida and Buena Vista Chambers of Commerce, and at the door prior to the concert. Free student tickets are also available at the door.
